The conversation about racial oppression, police brutality, the correct" way to protest death and terror, the race "riot" in American History, and the role of obstruction and destruction in catalyzing political change, is not a new conversation, but it has surfaced again in the era of Black Lives Matter and the recent murders of Breonna Taylor, Geroge Floyd, and others. We cannot cover such a vast topic area in 90 min. We can, however, examine one 1989 Spike Lee Joint, "Do the Right Thing", and think about these broader issues in a more digestible context. Join Regan Byrd Consulting for a 90 min discussion group on the movie, "Do The Right Thing" and be prepared to discuss racism, police brutality, power, protest, and how to "fight the powers that be." Attendees are asked to view the movie before attending the discussion group. This is a free community discussion group that attendees are free to support financiallly through Paypal (reganbyrd@yahoo.com), Venmo (@Regan-Byrd), or Patreon (patreon.com/radicalhumanist). Suggested donations are $15 or $5 monthly on Patreon for long-term support of these special offerings.
